Scraplift Challenge for Creative Inspiration

Hi Friends

Today I am sharing a layout I did for the Scraplift challenge over at Creative Inspiration.

Check the details out here

This is my layout.

I have cut the heart shape out of the white cardstock with my Scan N Cut, I then cut the cardstock down to 10.5" square.

I then drew the heart on a piece of scrap paper and attached the distressed strips of paper to the scrap piece to cover the heart shape. This was then attached to the back of the white cardstock

I then layered the white on 3 other papers increasing in size by 1/2" as they got further away from the white, ending with a 12" x 12" piece of plain black cardstock as the base.

Off to the sewing machine to stitch around the edge of the white cardstock and the heart

I then used some scraps to add the other embellishments on the page.

This is the inspiration piece that I found on Pinterest.

Using Scraps for a heart shaped background. Queen and Company, Stacy Cohen.

February Card Challenge for Creative Inspiration

Good afternoon.

I have been missing in action for the last week as I have had my Mum staying with me and have spent the time with her.

Today I am sharing a card I made for the Sunday Card Challenge over at Creative Inspiration. You should check it out here

This is the card I made

and this is the challenge sketch

Image may contain: sunglasses

As you can see I have stuck very closely to the sketch as I loved the design.

I have done some heat embossing with clear embossing powder and a zig zag stamp on the background for a bit of interest.

The fishtail pennants were also stamped, heat embossed and fussy cut on patterned paper before being stitched to the card front.

I have used a lot of machine stitching on the card and a double layer pennant for added dimension.

The dots on the half circle pennants are made with a Pink Pearl Pen.

The front white panel was then foam mounted onto a black card base

Why not pop over to Creative Inspiration and have a go at the challenge. There are prizes to be won.

Off The Rails February Mood Board Reveal

Hi friends

Today I want to share with you my layout for the DT reveal over at Off The Rails Scrapbooking

This is my layout

and this is the Mood Board. It suggests bright colours and lots of texture to me.

To get lots of texture on my layout I used some Texture Paste through a stencil then dribbled some water colour over the top of it letting it run down the page. The large photo is double mounted with one of the layers being corrugated cardboard. The waves were cut on my Scan N Cut from paper that I had coloured with Color Crush powders. The back layer is stuck directly to the background and then each layer is foam mounted on top of the one below it which gives lots of dimension.

The photos are of my grand daughter's 7th birthday party. She had a Mermaid party. A Mermaid came and kept all of the children occupied for 2 hours. They loved it. My grand daughter turned 10 last week so it has taken me a while to get around to scrapping those photos.

Why not pop over to Off The Rails Scrapbooking and check out the other DT members layouts, I'm sure you will find lots to inspire you. Enter a layout yourself, there are great prizes up for grabs.
